Most inclusion posters in Indian schools are kind and useless. The work sits in the timetable: who is free in third period, where the quiet room actually is, and whether the LSA eats lunch or writes notes.
What leadership can change this term
Give the shadow teacher a named desk, a named backup, and one hour a week with the class teacher. That beats another awareness week.
What parents can ask
Ask who the child goes to when the LSA is sick. If the answer is ‘we will see’, the plan is not a plan.
