Child safety first
Safeguarding
A child’s safety sits above a parent’s preference, a school’s convenience, and our own reputation. This page says how we hire, how we behave in class and at home, and when we must tell someone even if a family asks us not to.

1. Who this is for
This charter applies to everyone who works with or for Insighte Childcare Private Limited: employees, contractors, shadow teachers, counsellors, supervisors, and people who visit a family or a school in our name. It sits next to our Privacy notice and Terms.
If you are worried about a child we support, write to care@insighte.in with “Safeguarding” in the subject, or call +91 80500 72920. Do not wait for a weekly note.
2. What we mean by harm
We treat as a safeguarding concern any sign that a child may be experiencing:
- Sexual abuse, sexual harassment, or a sexual offence, including online.
- Physical injury that is not explained, or punishment that is cruel.
- Emotional humiliation, threats, or persistent belittling at school or at home.
- Neglect of food, medical care, or a safe adult.
- Peer bullying that the school is not holding.
- A staff member or contractor crossing a professional line.
Neurodivergent children are not “difficult”. Distress, shutdown, or a meltdown is not a reason to use force or shame. Our people are trained to stay in the room and to ask for help, not to “break” a behaviour.
3. How we hire and place people
Before someone sits with a child we:
- Check identity and relevant qualifications.
- Run police verification where the role requires it.
- Brief them on this charter, on confidentiality, and on what they must report.
- Introduce them to the school or the family before they start, where the service allows it.
- Put a supervisor on the week so the placement is not one adult left alone with no oversight.
We may refuse or withdraw a person if the check is incomplete, if a school objects on reasonable safety grounds, or if we see a risk we cannot manage.
4. Rules for adults in our name
People working for Insighte must:
- Never hit, shake, isolate in a locked space, or use pain to gain compliance.
- Never ask a child for secrets from their parents, or ask a parent to hide a concern from the school.
- Never message a child on a personal social account, or meet a child alone off the agreed site.
- Keep one-to-one home sessions in sight or earshot of a parent or nominated adult, unless a written plan says otherwise for a clinical reason.
- Use the school’s visitor and washroom rules. They do not take a child off campus without written permission.
- Report a concern the same day. They do not investigate on their own, and they do not promise a child “this stays between us” when safety is in question.
Intimate care (toileting, changing) is only with the school or parent’s agreed plan, and never as a secret favour.
5. When we must tell someone
Indian law does not let us hide a sexual offence against a child. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) requires reporting to the police or the specified authority. We will report. We will not wait for a family meeting if waiting would put the child at further risk.
We may also share limited information with a school safeguarding lead, a child-welfare officer, or a clinician, when that is needed to keep the child safe. We will tell the parent unless doing so would increase the risk. Privacy rights under the DPDP Act do not stop a disclosure the law requires. That is also stated in our Privacy notice.
If you ask us to delete a file that holds a live safeguarding report, we will refuse the deletion of that slice until the legal hold ends.
6. What we will not do
We will not hide a staff concern to protect Insighte’s name. We will not move a person to another family without looking at the concern. We will not coach a child to retract. We will not use “clinical confidentiality” as a reason to sit on a POCSO fact.
We also will not run a public inquiry on a family WhatsApp group. Reports are handled by the safeguarding contact and, where needed, by the police.
7. If the concern is about us
If your worry is about an Insighte person, still write to care@insighte.in or call +91 80500 72920. Ask for someone who is not that person’s day-to-day supervisor if you want a second pair of eyes. You may also go straight to the school, to the local police, or to Childline 1098. You do not need our permission.
We may suspend the person from child-facing work while we look. Suspension is not a finding of guilt. We will not discuss another family’s child with you while we do that.
8. Photos, stories, and marketing
We do not use a child’s face, name, or school in marketing without a parent’s separate written consent. A care plan is not consent to a campaign. Staff must not post a child on their own social accounts.
9. Schools and homes
A partner school keeps its own POCSO committee and duty of care. We work with that process. We do not replace it. In a home, the parent remains the responsible adult for the house. Our person is a visitor with a defined task.
10. Training and review
People in child-facing roles receive briefing on this charter and on how to report. Supervisors review notes and, when needed, sit in. We will update this page when the law or our practice changes. The date at the top is the current version.
